According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels, are the leading cause of death globally accounting for approximately one third of all deaths (WHO, 2022). It is important to detect CVD as early as possible so that management of the disease can begin.

By enabling clinicians to quickly and easily monitor biomolecules that are released into the blood when the heart is damaged or stressed, in vitro diagnostic (IVD) assays support the management of CVD.
