Nitrogen is produced by utilising a combination of filtration and pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology. Standard compressed air is filtered by high efficiency coalescing filters to remove all contaminants down to 0.1ppm. For ultra-sensitive applications such as GC -FID and GC -ECD, units also include the additional heated catalyst module to ensure hydrocarbons are removed to <0.1ppm. The air then passes through two columns filled with a carbon molecular sieve (CMS) which adsorbs O2, CO2 and moisture. The EVO Nitrogen hybrid gas generators was specifically designed to meet the flow, purity and pressure requirements of the LC/MS of AB SCIEX with appropriate pressures and flows of nitrogen. The simple and proven pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology is employed to remove Nitrogen from compressed air. Selective molsieves (CMS) adsorb remaining Oxygen and traces of humidity.
