Seawater Analysis

The health of our oceans is a critical topic as we work to ensure environmental and human well-being. These vast bodies of water cover 70% of the earth’s surface, hold about 96% of all of the planet’s water, and are an important source of food, oxygen production and the sequestration of carbon dioxide. Estuarial, coastal, and oceanic ecosystems are affected by agriculture and industrial runoff, chemical pollutants such as persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and toxic metals, plastics and other harmful materials. With high concentrations of trace elements, there are unique challenges to analyzing seawater. PerkinElmer provides a range of analytical solutions which allow scientists to study these contaminants, address unique analytical challenges and work towards preserving the health of our marine and coastal ecosystems.
